About IBME
Engineering and clinical insight, working together.
Shaping the future of medicine
We are living in an era of remarkable scientific and technological progress, transforming how we understand, prevent, diagnose and treat disease. These advances offer unprecedented opportunities to improve health and quality of life. At the Institute of Biomedical Engineering (BME), we are committed to harnessing this potential to shape the future of medicine.
Established through a strategic collaboration between Nanyang Technological University (NTU Singapore) and Singapore Health Services (SingHealth), the Institute combines NTU’s strengths in engineering and technology with SingHealth’s clinical expertise and extensive healthcare ecosystem. By bringing engineers and clinicians together, the Institute fosters interdisciplinary collaboration to develop innovative technologies that address unmet medical needs.
Through this partnership, the Institute aims to accelerate the translation of scientific discoveries into practical solutions that improve patient care, advance medical innovation and ultimately enhance human health.
